This recording also includes three of my other pieces, featuring my dear friend, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.victoria.ac.nz\/nzsm\/about\/staff\/donald-maurice\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Donald Maurice<\/a> (viola), and other great performers. In Nigun, conceived\noriginally for string orchestra, Pigovat\u2019s goal is to give\n\u201cexpression to the tragic spirit which I feel in traditional\nJewish music\u201d by giving homage to the style and spiritual\natmosphere of ancient tunes, but without quoting
